Many times it happens that due to some injury or some other reason people might look different than normal humans. They might consider themselves as ugly or misfit in the society and thus become victims of inferiority complex and insecurity. If we look back a century from today, we will see people hiding their faces or disfigured bodies and trying to avoid as much interaction with others as possible because of how they appear. True beauty is indeed on the inside, but in normal interactions with fellow members of a society appearance do matter.

Luckily the modern man has a solution to this problem which has caused people to live like outcasts in the past. The solution is not simple and requires huge amounts of cash in most cases, but some people might find some good options which might solve their problems. Cosmetic surgery also known as plastic surgery is a very complex surgery performed on the skin to get rid of defects. Some cosmetic surgery procedures also require in depth surgery of the bone and tissue structure as well, but in most cases only the skin and surface tissues are under consideration.

With the help of cosmetic surgery, now people can get rid of defects in the shape or skin of their body by adjusting it according to their wishes. Some people might have thought that if their nose was a bit bigger than and not as broad as it is then it would make them look much better and they would be acceptable in the society. Well now the dreams of such people can come true because doctors are now able to perform massive cosmetic surgeries which can remove almost any defect which one might deem a hurdle in his or her social life.

There are also many cases of people with severely disfigured faces after some accident or perhaps due to some birth defects who have been treated with cosmetic surgery techniques. Most people feel very secure and less different than others after the procedure. In some parts of the world, many doctors do such operations without any charges for the sake of humanity. Although they are very expensive but there are some humanitarian organizations which offer to support those who need such surgeries.

Although this method is not new and many such processes had been going on in many areas of the world for centuries but the modern method and practice began in the early 20th century which started an era of modern reconstructive surgery.
